FAQs
What is a sellable Item?
A Sellable Item is a singular product that has the same shape, size, color, packaging (including artwork, stickering, language, and master carton structure), and UPC or EAN. The new Sellable Item number format will be 12 digits beginning with a 1 (i.e., 100000000000, and sequentially assigned as items are created. These numbers will not carry any embedded intelligence in their format.
What will happen to all of our "10-" item records?
Our entire active item catalog, including two years of history, will be mapped from its existing 10# to a new Sellable Item number. Some items will be consolidated together using the Sellable Item definition above. New records in each of our systems will be created, and historical data representing two years of transactions will be mapped to ensure consistent reporting and references.
How will customers be affected?
Customers reference our item numbers in different ways. All open B2B sales orders will be canceled and reissued with the new item numbers using the available mapping. Our Customer Support teams will be partnering with our Sales and Order Management colleagues to work through any exceptions, and providing the updated item catalog with helpful item number mapping for customers to update their systems in the days and weeks following our transition.
